The Story Behind Travelry: Made for Friends by Friends

Travelry was born out of a simple desire: to make group travel easier and more affordable. It all started when we were in college and eager to explore the world with our friends. However, we quickly realized that planning trips, especially for larger groups, was a logistical nightmare.

As college students, we faced several hurdles. Coordinating schedules, finding suitable accommodations, and managing transportation for a group of friends proved to be incredibly complex. Every aspect of planning seemed to involve endless back-and-forth, which often led to confusion and frustration.

One of the biggest issues we encountered was the ambiguity in pricing. Hidden fees and unexpected costs were common, making it difficult to stick to our budget. We often ended up spending more than we intended, which was disheartening, especially on a student budget.

The Inspiration

Our first trip was to Oahu, where about 12 of us piled into a beautiful villa on the beach for a week. It was an unforgettable experience that none of us could have afforded individually. After this trip, we became even better at researching and booking, which significantly reduced our costs. We spent hours on spreadsheets and Google, switching back and forth to find the best deals for the best experiences. It was during one of these marathon planning sessions that we thought to ourselves,
